You know, I’ve been following your blog’s thread about your mom and often thinking, oh jesus, that’s so paranoid… how fucked up that there was/is so much truth in her fear. It’s not a situation where it feels good to be right, but wow. I imagine the articles about rape she sends you will only keep coming…
There were a number of incidents of girls (backpacker types) taking cabs from the Bombay airport and the taxi would take them somewhere and rape them, similar incidents in ricks before the Delhi bus thing.
People dont want to notice that this stuff happens regularly until something so awful happens its right up in everyones face again.

Yeah, it’s really chilling that someone has to be practically murdered in plain sight before people are like… ‘oh. rape… rapenings…’ And then the inevitable… what was she wearing?
